Court released two minors detained on light rail, police will appeal

Monday, November 28, 2011, 17:47 The Jerusalem Magistrate Court ordered the release of the two Jewish girls detained yesterday on suspicion of attacking Arab women during an altercation that developed on the light rail in Jerusalem.
Judge Irit Cohen refused to accept the police request to extend their remand by four days and ordered their release to a two-day house arrest. The police filed a request to delay carrying out the decision and announced that they would appeal the decision. The judge accepted the request and the girls will remain in remand tonight. Tomorrow they will be brought to the district court for a deliberation.
Honenu Attorney David HaLevi represented the girls.
