Defense Minister Benny Gantz has signed another administrative detention order for a Jewish Shomron resident. (See here for another recent case of an administrative order signed by DM Gantz.) The order imprisons him for three months in Shikma Prison. The resident was recently detained on suspicion of involvement with a price tag incident, but the court ordered his release after the Central Unit of the Yehuda and Shomron Police were unable to connect him to the crimes of which he was suspected.
Honenu Attorney Adi Keidar, who is representing the detainee: “While the State of Israel is under terror attacks, there is someone who is still busy chasing after Jews instead of pursuing the enemy. This is a reprehensible situation, and we will petition the court for his immediate release.”
Recently, there has been a sharp increase in both the number of requests for assistance from Honenu with regard to administrative orders and the severity of the restrictions imposed on the recipients
