Five Givati soldiers investigated

Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 13:54 On Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27 the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (MPCID) detained five soldiers in the Shaked Regiment of the Givati Brigade on suspicion of applying unreasonable force on an Arab suspected of throwing rocks in El Bira. A video clip of the incident was publicized by the left-wing B’Tzelem organization.
All five of the soldiers were released after they explained that they exercised reasonable force under the circumstances.
Honenu attorney Adi Kedar briefed one of the soldiers.
Honenu: “Particularly at this time we are witness to a wave of detentions of IDF soldiers by the military police on suspicion of exercising unreasonable force against terrorists. This is a scandal. Why are the military authorities answering ‘Amen’ to the testimonies given by terrorists or left-wing organizations, instead of supporting IDF soldiers?”
