Thursday, January 9, 2020, 9:16 On Thursday, January 9, the recent GSS detainees will be brought to court. After six days of remand, two of the detainees met for the first time with an attorney yesterday (Wednesday). They reported to a Honenu Attorney the serious rights violations they had experienced at the hands of the GSS interrogators. The Honenu Attorneys representing them are expected to file complaints about the matter on behalf of their clients.
Starting from 10:00 the three adults and the minor will be brought to the Petah Tikva Magistrates Court. Honenu Attorneys Chai Haber, Adi Keidar, Nati Rom, Amir Bracha and Avichai Hajbi are representing the detainees.
Yesterday (Wednesday) the GSS interrogators extended the order prohibiting one of the detainees from meeting with an attorney. The detainee is the one in whose case a complaint was filed with the Mivtan following his complaints before the court about brutal treatment by the GSS interrogators.
Also yesterday, the mother of one of the detainees publicized a video clip in which she requested the assistance of public figures in overseeing the interrogations: “I turn to Justice Minister Ohana, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and Defense Minister Bennett, to anyone who can check what is happening there [in the GSS interrogations rooms] and stop it, stop everything that is against the law.
“One cannot let them do whatever they want, against the law of the state. We know that our sons are not in a good condition. There is no law and no-one to enforce law. You must stop this. Our sons must be released, immediately.
