GSS requests remand extension on two Yitzhar detainees

Monday, August 8 10:56 GSS investigators informed Honenu attorney Adi Kedar that they intend to request a remand extension from the court on the two youths from Yitzhar arrested yesterday. The two are expected to arrive at the Petah Tikva Magistrate Court by 13:00 today.
Honenu attorney Adi Kedar will represent the two detainees.
Friends of the two announced that they intend to demonstrate outside of the courthouse during the deliberation, in protest of the harsh remand conditions in which the detainees are being held. Yesterday Kedar reported that he had met with the detainees, GSS investigators confiscated their clothes and they are being held in small cells without a toilet or a bed.
Until now no reason for their arrest has been given, other than a response from the GSS to the media that they are suspected of damaging Arab property.
