Honenu demanded, journalist Miki Levin apologized to Sde Teiman soldiers

Journalist Miki Levin’s apology

Tuesday, November 4, 2025, 13:38 Yesterday, journalist Miki Levin claimed in a broadcast on Channel i24 that “the Sde Teiman affair was not a libel, and not fake news, and in the end, indictments were filed.” Additionally, Levin praised journalist Guy Peleg for supposedly exposing the truth: “Guy Peleg exposed the truth. It is important that there be journalists who present the truth.” Following her statements, Honenu Attorney Menashe Yado wrote to Miki Levin and explained to her that neither sodomy nor rape had been committed on the Sde Teiman military base. Attorney Yado presented to her Guy Peleg’s blatant lies and demanded that she apologize to the slandered IDF Unit 100 soldiers.

In the letter, Attorney Yado leveled sharp criticism at Levin for her slanderous statements: “Our soldiers have suffered more than enough from lies, defamation, and destructive false accusations. It is unjust, and they are not willing to silently bear your slander. Therefore, I demand, and fairness and justice require, that you apologize for your slanderous statements.”

In response, Levin publicized a clarification: “The Unit 100 soldiers’ attorney turned to me after the broadcast and told me that Guy Peleg did not speak the truth when he said that there is documentation in the video that the soldiers committed the crime of sodomy in an attempted rape. Likewise, he said that this crime was not included in the indictment, and the medical evidence completely refutes any possibility of sodomy or other sexual acts. I clarify that it was not my intent to confirm Guy Peleg’s statements according to which there is photographic documentation or other evidence that sodomy had been committed.”

In April 2025, Honenu Attorneys Menashe Yado and Nati Rom filed a 1.5 million shekel defamation suit on behalf of two of the soldiers against Peleg over his slanderous televised report on Channel 12. The plaintiffs are also suing Channel 12 for broadcasting the report.
