Indictment filed against Givat Ronen detainees

Sunday, June 7, 2015, 11:40 In the middle of the night between Monday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 2, two residents of Givat Ronen in the Shomron were detained on suspicion of assaulting policemen while the IDF and the Israeli Police destroyed structures in the hilltop community. One of the detainees is suspected of also damaging the tractor used for the destruction. On Thursday, June 4 their remand was extended until Sunday, June 7.
An indictment was filed on the morning of Sunday, June 7 at the Petah Tikva Magistrate Court against the two detainees in which they are accused of assaulting policemen. One of them is also accused of puncturing a tire of the tractor used in the destruction and attempting to puncture another tire. One of the detainees is suspected of owning spikes of the type used to puncture tires.
The two detainees deny all charges. One of the detainees is the owner of the storage shed destroyed by the security forces.
The Attorney General’s office is demanding a remand extension for both of the detainees until the end of proceedings. A deliberation is scheduled to begin shortly on the demand. Honenu attorney Aharon Roza is representing both of the detainees.
