Thursday, July 3, 2025, 17:41 Today (Thursday), the Petah Tikva Magistrates Court, in an agreement between the sides, conditionally released the remaining two detainees involved in the incident at the Mount Hatzor outpost last Friday night. At the hearing, it was revealed that the video clip leaked to the media over the past two days is the central evidence in the case. In light of the leaked video clip, the battalion commander was summoned by the police to give additional testimony. Following his testimony, the special team handling the inquiry held a consultation yesterday evening with the Jerusalem District Attorney’s office, at the end of which it was decided that the police would not insist on a remand extension for the detainees.
Honenu Attorney Daniel Shimshilashvilli, who is representing the two detainees, issued a statement: “When it became apparent that the accusations made against the youths in the media bore a very tenuous resemblance to reality, I was pleased that my clients had the sense to record the incident. What we claimed from the first moment was proven to be correct. I suggest that everyone who slandered the youths apologize to them. The youths are from good families, most of them are going to serve in the IDF, and their families do serve, thus the accusations against them were all the more hurtful.”

The 14-year-old boy wounded at the Mount Hatzor outpost incident was released from the hospital today to recuperate at home. After the boy underwent an operation to remove the bullet, the military police took it as an exhibit in the evidence, and the Military Criminal Investigation Division launched an inquiry into the behavior of the battalion commander and other soldiers involved in the incident. In the framework of the inquiry, the military police and the Military Advocate General collected video clips and medical documents.
