Minor detained in Ramat Migron

Tuesday, March 21, 2017 15:51 Honenu: “It is incredible to see how dozens of policemen and detectives from the department which deals with the most serious crimes, including organized crime, carry out daily chases and invest massive resources out of public funds to apprehend minors who build a shack in Ramat Migron or Givat HaBaladim. We suggest that the police devote the resources to dealing with the nationalist agricultural crime and terror with which the residents of Yehuda and Shomron are faced every day.”
The police filed an indictment against a minor who stayed in the area of the Ramat Migron outpost, despite a prohibition by the Yehuda and Shomron Division Commander.
On Tuesday, March 21 an indictment was filed with the Jerusalem Magistrate Court against a 15-year-old youth who was detained on suspicion of violating a closed military zone order by entering the Ramat Migron outpost. According to the indictment, recently a demarcation order was issued for the area of “South Ramat Migron”, and after that Yehuda and Shomron Division Commander, Brigadier-General Lior Carmeli issued an additional closed military zone order.
According to the police, detectives from the Department of Nationalist Crime in the Central Unit of the Yehuda and Shomron District Police, who carry out raids on the outpost on a daily basis, gave the minor the order several days previously. However on Monday, March 20 he was detained again in the area marked in the order.
The police demanded the release of the minor on condition of distancing from Ramat Migron until the end of proceedings and posting bail. Honenu Attorney Yossi Nadav represented the minor at a deliberation which took place at the Jerusalem Magistrate Court. The minor was released on condition of 750 NIS bail and distancing from Ramat Migron until a deliberation on Thursday, March 23.
Additionally Honenu reports that on Tuesday, March 21, at the Givat HaBaladim outpost near Kochav HaShachar a resident was detained at the site as the police cleared it out. He was taken to the offices of the Department of Nationalist Crime in the Central Unit of the Yehuda and Shomron District Police and interrogated on suspicion of disturbing a policeman in the line of duty and insulting a policeman.
“It is dumbfounding to see how dozens of policemen and detectives from the Central Unit [of the Yehuda and Shomron District Police] which handles serious crime, including organized crime, carries out daily chases and invests huge resources from public funds to apprehend minors who built a shack in Ramat Migron or Givat HaBaladim. We suggest that the police direct the resources to dealing with the nationalist agricultural crime and terror that residents of Yehuda and Shomron face.”
