Remand of young man arrested during the funeral procession of Ben-Yosef Livnat, hy”d, extended

Monday, April 25 23:15 This evening the K’far Saba Magistrate Court extended the remand of “Y”, a 19 year old man arrested on suspicion of throwing rocks at Arabs during the funeral procession of Ben-Yosef Livnat, hy”d.
“Y” was arrested by soldiers at the Tapuah Junction after the funeral procession passed the village of Hawara. The soldiers claimed that they identified him as having thrown rocks at Arabs an hour earlier at the Yitzhar Junction.
During investigation “Y” denied all charges and other than the testimony of the soldiers there is no evidence connecting him to the incident.
Judge David Hasdai currently extended his remand until Wednesday. Honenu attorney Adi Kedar represented “Y”.
Yesterday (Sunday) morning IDF soldiers delayed a vehicle that left Migron, in the Binyamin region, and arrested two young men traveling in the vehicle on suspicion that they threw rocks at Arab vehicles on Route 60. The two were released at the Binyamin police station after several hours as no evidence was found connecting them to the incident that occurred several hundred meters from the community.
On the eve of the holiday the four arrested for praying at Joseph’s Tomb on suspicion of violating a military order were released; by a miracle they survived a shooting by murderous Arabs. The police requested a five-day extension of their remand, however the court released the four to house arrest for the remainder of the holiday and barred them from entering Area A for 15 days.
