Sunday, November 9, 2025, 13:28 Honenu is representing two of the five IDF Unit 100 soldiers indicted in the Sde Teiman case on suspicion of assaulting a Nukhba terrorist prisoner who took part in the Simhat Torah massacre (October 7). Several days ago, Haaretz journalist Uri Misgav claimed in a tweet on his X (Twitter) account that the soldiers had raped the Nukhba terrorist prisoner on the Sde Teiman military base. This claim was disproven long ago and does not appear in the indictment. Honenu Attorney Menashe Yado filed an NIS 450,000 defamation suit on behalf of the soldiers against Misgav with the Ramle Magistrates Court.
In the statement of claim, Attorney Yado underscored that Misgav’s tweet exacerbated the severe effects of the false accusation of rape on the soldiers: “The soldiers are fighting at this very moment to clear their names of the disgrace and mantle of lies in which they were wrapped unjustly and unwillingly. And exactly at this time, when the public has become aware of the severity of the acts of the Military Advocate General against the soldiers, the defendant again defames the plaintiffs as he repeats the lies against them. The defendant has used his position to attempt to influence a public who may not be aware of the true course of events. There are so many voices, so much noise, and a tweet from someone with influence, such as the defendant, makes waves. The lie is repeated and it echos. The plaintiffs have suffered a great deal because of the contemptible accusations, since proved false. The suit is being filed to enable the plaintiffs to be compensated by the defendant and clear their names.”
Attorney Yado commented on the case: “The Sde Teiman libel severely damaged the image of the Unit 100 soldiers and the army and State of Israel. However, the truth has now come to light. Justice is being served to all those responsible for the defamation. Despite the obvious truth, Misgav and his colleagues in the left-wing media continue to echo the despicable lie for the sake of left-wing judicial hegemony. We will continue to seek justice for the Unit 100 soldiers and stand up for Israel’s right to fight back against contemptible Hamas terrorists and all other enemies. Whoever lies and defames will face the consequences and pay restitution.”
