Shevut Ami: Border police beat four youths and then framed them

Sunday, March 27 14:52 Yesterday afternoon (Saturday) a group of border policemen arrived at the Shevut Ami outpost near Kedumim. A few youths that were present at the scene were in the middle of the third Sabbath meal.
The border policemen announced that area was a closed military zone and ordered the youths to leave the area. The youths started to pack their equipment and to say the after-meal blessing, however the border policemen didn’t wait even a moment.
As the youths were saying the blessing several policemen attacked them, blinded them with flashlights, beat them with their fists, kicked them and slammed them into a stone wall. According to the testimony of the youths one of the border policemen pulled the payot of one of them.

The youth were questioned at the Ariel police station on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, denied all charges during questioning and claimed that they were the attacked, not the attackers.
Currently the police are requesting that the Petah Tikva Magistrate Court release them to house arrest for 15 days. Honenu attorney Adi Kedar will represent the four at the deliberation.
