Two Binyamin region youths released to house arrest

Tuesday, June 23, 2015, 17:00 The Jerusalem Magistrate Court accepted Honenu attorney Avichai Hajbi’s opinion and on Tuesday, June 23 ordered the release of the two youths from the Talmonim Bloc in the Binyamin region who were detained on the night of Saturday, June 20 (after Shabbat) on suspicion of throwing rocks at Arabs cars near the site of the terror attack in which Dani Gonen, Hy”d, was shot and murdered on the previous day near the community of Dolev.
Jerusalem Magistrate Court Judge Gioia Skappa-Shapiro ruled that due to the lack of evidence implicating them there is no cause to keep the two youths in remand and ordered their release to three days of house arrest. The youths, who were detained by soldiers near an intersection known as “Tzomet HaParsa” in the Talmonim Bloc, deny all charges.
Honenu attorney Avichai Hajbi: “It appears that the Israeli Police are not safeguarding the freedom of minors as is required by law. The claims made by the police representative during the deliberation are irritating and upsetting. It seems that from the beginning there was no cause to detain the youths.”
