Two Jewish Hikers Held Over Shabbat

Sat night. Jan. 29
On Friday about forty people hiked in the area of Bat Eyin, Gush Etzion, in memory of two soldiers who had been killed, David Rubin and David Achikam. During the hike Arabs massed against them from nearby Chirbit Tzafa. The Arabs were armed with rocks and attacked. In response a large amount of IDF soldiers arrived to try to get the Jews to stop their hike; eighteen were taken for interrogation.
Honenu lawyers managed to free most before Shabbat, but two were held in jail over Shabbat. The hearing was after Shabbat and the police want to hold them for eight days.
Attorney Aaron Roza, for Honenu, is representing them.
