Two Jews detained during Arab riot near Amona

Friday, May 17, 16:45 Two residents of Amona were detained on Friday, May 17 during a disturbance caused by rioting Arabs from the nearby village of Silwad, Honenu reports.
According to residents of Giva 904, a hilltop community near Amona, every Friday Arabs from the village of Silwad go to Giva 904 and throw rocks at houses in the community. When IDF forces arrive at the site the Arabs throw rocks also at them.
Two Jews, both heads of household and one of them a member of the community’s rapid response team, were detained today (May 17) on suspicion of throwing rocks back at the rioting Arabs. The accused were taken to the Central Unit of the Yehuda and Shomron Police Station in Ma’aleh Adumim where they were interrogated. A Honenu attorney is handling the case.
In response to the detentions Honenu states that, “The embarrassing conduct of Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, and Minister of Internal Security Yitzhak Aharonovitch, who obsessively concern themselves with spray-painted graffiti, which they define as acts of terror, and ignore the danger which Jews face daily in Yehuda and Shomron, is filtering down.”
