Thursday, March 22, 16:50 The remand of, E., the youth assaulted by Arabs who suspected that he had killed one of their goats near the community of Migron on Tuesday has been extended.
In a deliberation which took place today at the Jerusalem Magistrate Court the judge extended his remand by one day. Also yesterday the court extended his remand by one day. Honenu attorney Itzik Bam represented the youth.
Two days ago three Arabs viciously assaulted E., who required medical treatment including stitches on his head. The assailants handed the injured youth over to the police who arrived on the scene and gave the police photographs of the goat that they claim E. slaughtered. Despite the complaint filed by E. none of his assailants have been arrested.
E. was taken to the Central Unit of the Yehuda and Shomron Police in Ma’aleh Adumim where he was interrogated for more than three hours while his head injury went untreated. During the interrogation E. denied all charges. Only two hours after the interrogation ended was E. evacuated to the Hadassah-Mt. Scopus Hospital where his head wound was stitched. After treatment E. was taken to the detention center in the Russian Compound where he remains in remand until this time.
Tomorrow (Friday) E. will be brought to a deliberation during which the police will demand his remand until the end of proceedings. Honenu attorney Itzik Bam, who is representing E., filed an appeal on today’s decision to extend his remand by one day.
