9:23 Update: The deliberation will take place in Courtroom B with Justice Stein presiding.
On Friday, January 11, at the Supreme Court in Jerusalem an urgent deliberation will take place on the request for an appeal filed by Honenu Attorneys Adi Keidar and Amir Bracha who are representing the last of the five minors from the yeshiva in Rechalim who were detained by the GSS.
The appeal for the request was filed on the decision by the Central District Court to schedule the deliberation on the appeal of the remand extension for Sunday. On Thursday the minor’s remand was extended by six days. In an effort to release the minor and thereby save him from spending Shabbat behind bars in the GSS detention facility, at the deliberation Honenu Attorneys Keidar and Bracha will ask the Supreme Court to order the District Court to rule today (Friday).
Honenu Attorney Adi Keidar: “This morning a deliberation will take place at the Supreme Court in Jerusalem on the question of why the appeal filed on the case of the last minor remaining in remand with the [Central] District Court needs to be scheduled three days after it was filed. We are of the opinion that there are grounds to rule as soon as possible on the appeal and to order the release of the minor before Shabbat.”
