Wednesday, May 5, 2021, 17:18 Arabs pelted a Jewish youth with rocks near the Shimon HaTzadik light rail station in Jerusalem approximately ten days ago. Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is assisting the youth, wrote a letter to the police describing the attack: A group of dozens of rioting Arabs who had gathered at the site shouted “Itbakh al Yahud,” slaughter the Jew, and threw large rocks at the youth, who has an obviously Jewish appearance.
One of the rocks hit him hard in the face, and from the force of the blow he lost consciousness. His entire face was injured, including cuts on his eyebrows and his eyelids, a fractured eye socket, a damaged inner cornea and lacrimal sac (above the tear duct), and broken teeth.
The youth was treated by a Hatzala medic and evacuated by hospital to the Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital. The following morning, he was transferred to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital for a series of treatments which included stitches to his cornea. Four days later he was released to further treatment at home.
After his release, the youth filed a complaint at his local police station, which was transferred to the Lev HaBira Police Station in Jerusalem. However, despite the security cameras at the scene of the brutal attack, and despite the long time that has passed since he filed the complaint, he has not received authorization as a victim of terror and has not been informed that any suspects have been detained.
Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher asked the police to gather the videos from the security cameras and to do everything possible “to locate the terrorists and bring them to trial. This was an extremely severe attack in which a man was seriously injured and required lengthy and complicated medical treatment.
“This was a very serious antisemitic attack, which miraculously did not end worse. Dozens of dangerous Arabs are wandering the city, looking for Jewish targets to injure. They are antisemitic terrorists, and they pose a danger to the public in general and to Jews in particular. We call on the police to act with all the means at their disposal, including gathering intelligence and video clips from security cameras, in order to locate and detain the dangerous assailants and penalize them.”
