Monday, July 17, 2023, 18:50 At dawn this morning (Monday), three Yehuda and Shomron residents were detained by the GSS and the Yehuda and Shomron Police. As of this posting, contrary to the norm, they have not yet been brought to court. It is not clear why the police are refusing to schedule a hearing for them. Two of the detainees were detained previously, three weeks ago and, despite a request by the police for a remand extension, were released by the court.

Honenu Attorney Nati Rom reported, “This morning, three young men were detained. Two of them were previously detained on various suspicions and released by the court. Today, they were again detained under the authority of a detention warrant signed by a judge. It is not clear whether or not he was presented with all of the material in the case, in particular, the fact that a different judge released the two detainees after they were suspected of similar offenses. We were told that the hearing would be held at about 11:00. However, as of now, contrary to the norm, the detainees have not been brought to a hearing. This is extremely unusual and improper conduct on the part of the police. There is no red line that the police will not cross when it comes to violating the rights of Yehuda and Shomron residents. This is a disgrace.”
