Thursday, September 5, 2024, 7:59 In August 2023, Shai Nigrekar and his son Aviad, Hy”d were murdered by a terrorist in Hawara, an Arab town in the Shomron. The terrorist fled immediately after the attack and joined a terror cell in Jenin, where he was apprehended by security forces three months later. He was recently indicted. Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing the Nigrekar family, is demanding the death penalty for the terrorist.
The indictment describes how, inspired by the Nukhba terrorists, the terrorist and the other members of the cell planned a series of murderous attacks on Jews after the October 7 massacre, including blowing up a section of the Separation Wall, infiltrating Jewish communities along the “seam zone” and massacring the residents, detonating car bombs at the gas station in Eli, a drive-by shooting at Jews in Yehuda and Shomron, and an attack in Ma’aleh Efraim.
Honenu Attorney Bleicher: “After the despicable terrorist who murdered Shai and Aviad fled the scene of the attack, he joined a terror cell and, inspired by Nukhba terrorists, planned catastrophic attacks. The terrorist deserves the death penalty. Terrorists such as he do not have the right to exist on our land. On behalf of the Nigrekar family, we will demand that the State Attorney’s office appoint a panel of judges authorized to hand down a death penalty.”
