Wednesday, May 1, 2024, 16:52 On Wednesday morning (May 1), many border police officers accompanied by Civil Administration inspectors arrived at the hilltop community of Or Meir in the Binyamin region and destroyed structures on the site. Hundreds of Yehuda and Shomron residents arrived to protest the destruction and reported being brutally treated by the officers. Dozens of residents were detained, loaded onto buses, and released at the entrance to Jerusalem. Three detainees were taken into the police station. Honenu Attorney Nati Rom provided them with legal counsel.

Honenu Attorney Nati Rom: “Israel is in the middle of an existential war. And at this time, the security system chooses to send a large force to destroy a Jewish community. This insane policy is not implemented in any other sector. This distorted way of thinking that does not distinguish between friend and foe during wartime must be permanently disallowed.”
