IDF issues three administrative orders against Yehuda/Shomron youth

Friday, August 1, 2014, 9:50 While soldiers are fighting in the south of Israel and the missile barrages from the Gaza Strip continue to be launched on virtually all of Israel, the IDF and the GSS are still issuing administrative orders against youths in Yehuda and Shomron.
During the past two weeks three administrative orders have been issued against youths from Kiryat Arba, Bat Ayin and Jerusalem. The orders are signed by GOC Central Command Major General Nitzan Alon with the recommendation of the Jewish Department of the GSS.
The youth from Bat Ayin is banned from entering his parents’ home in Bat Ayin. Major General Alon ordered that he choose between staying in the community of Shadmot Mechula or not entering Yehuda and Shomron at all. A 16 year old from Kiryat Arba was given the choice of being restricted to Kiryat Arba or not entering Yehuda and Shomron at all. The third youth, also a minor, is a Jerusalem resident who attends school in the Shomron. He has been banned from entering all areas of Yehuda and Shomron.
Honenu is examining the possibilities for appealing the orders, however being as the orders are issued without presenting evidence and without a trial there is almost no chance of a successful appeal. During the deliberations on the administrative orders a GSS agent arrived in court and presented “classified information” to the judge.
In the past public figures and Knesset members have drawn severe criticism against administrative orders.
“It is inconceivable that at a time of battles instead of the Major General [Alon] and the GSS focusing efforts on thwarting attacks and disturbances on part of the Arabs, which have increased over the past few days in Yehuda and Shomron, they are continuing to target nationalist Jews,” responded Honenu attorney Adi Kedar. “Needless to say it would be best if the above-mentioned authorities participated in the combat in the south of Israel and focused their efforts on resolving the conflicts in the Gaza Strip.”
Honenu denounces the administrative orders. “We regret that even when virtually the entire country is under attack by missiles from the Arabs, the GSS chooses to continue obsessively pursuing the residents of Yehuda and Shomron. We denounce the use by the IDF of administrative orders, without a trial and without sentencing, against Jews who love the People and the Land of Israel.”
