Six detainees banned from meeting with attorney

Sunday, July 6, 2014, 19:34 Four Honenu attorneys are representing the six detainees, three of them minors, suspected of kidnapping and murdering an Arab youth from the Shuafat neighborhood of Jerusalem.
The Petah Tikva Magistrate Court extended the remand of five of the detainees by eight days and the remand of the sixth detainee by five days, despite the police request to extend the remand of all of the detainees by at least 15 days.
The detainees, who deny all connection to the incident, are currently being prevented from meeting with their attorneys.
On Monday, July 7 the Jerusalem and Petah Tikva District Courts will rule on the appeals filed by the Honenu attorneys against both the remand itself and against the ban on meeting with an attorney.
The attorneys handling the case are Adi Kedar, Uri Keinan, Aharon Roza and Bentzi Kovler. Honenu attorney Naftali Wertzberger filed the appeal against the ban on meeting with an attorney.
