Honenu appealed, Jerusalem District Court released detained youth

Wednesday, February 12, 20:40 On Wednesday, February 12 a Jewish youth was detained on suspicion of throwing rocks near Beit El and brought to the Jerusalem Magistrate Court where the police requested a three day remand extension. The judge partially agreed to the request and extended the remand by one day. Honenu attorney David HaLevi, who is representing the youth, filed an appeal with the Jerusalem District Court requesting that the youth be released immediately. Judge Shaham completely accepted the appeal, overturned the magistrate court decision and immediately released the youth.
Due to a power outage in the district court the deliberation took place in the judge’s chambers.
