Saturday, January 30, 2021, 22:15 After Shabbat, despite the cold, hundreds of demonstrators protested the death of Ahuvia Sandak, z”l, during a police car chase. Demonstrations took place at various locations throughout Israel, among them, Bat Yam, Har Hevron, Kiryat Motzkin, the String Bridge, Kedumim Junction, the Bar Ilan Bridge in Ramat Gan, and Meitarim Junction.
Six protesters were detained at the String Bridge in Jerusalem. Honenu Attorney Rehavia Piltz assisted the detainees at the police station.
Approximately 50 protesters demonstrated at Kedumim Junction. One of them, Chava Steig from Revava, said “We came because we have lost our trust in the law enforcement system. They [the policemen] killed a boy. There were cameras there, but everything was erased. It was all a cover-up, a corrupt cover-up. I am here because I am afraid for my children. I couldn’t sit at home.”
