Arrestee accused of chopping down Arab trees released

Wednesday, March 14, 15:57 Once again an arrest in a joint raid by security forces has ended with the arrestee’s release after a short time.
A fourteen year old youth was arrested yesterday in a pre-dawn raid in the community of Yitzhar. Yassam (Special Police), police detectives from the Yehuda and Shomron Police and agents from the Jewish Department of the GSS participated in the raid.
The youth was taken to the Ariel Police Station where he was interrogated on suspicion of chopping down Arab trees. Following that he was brought to the Petah Tikva Magistrate Court for a deliberation, where his remand was extended by one day. Today the youth was brought to the Petah Tikva Magistrate Court for an additional deliberation. Judge Shmulevitz ordered that he be released on condition of 1,000 NIS bail and house arrest under surveillance until Friday. The youth is also required to report tomorrow and Friday to the police station.
